My laundry room redo is 95% done!!! Here's a brief recap from my last post. Wire shelves = everything falls off. Messy laundry room before:
Inspiration -notice how both laundry rooms are small walkways from the garage...which is the one thing I did NOT want in my house, but ended up with. When I have a few thousand extra dollars I want to take out the wall to the mud room and make the half bath into a bigger laundry room. Or as Hubby just suggested...when we finish our basement we can make a laundry/craft room down there...with a clothing chute of course! Now that would be cool!I started out by emptying my laundry room and pulling out the wire shelves...okay, Hubby finished for me. Then we took boards that we already had (old garage shelving) and painted them black and Hubby screwed them up on the wall. I really liked her fancy brackets holding her shelve up, but decided this way was much cheaper and more durable. I liked some ideas I've seen recently using baskets to organize. Since I was trying to do this as cheaply as possible I just used a few I already had on hand.So the inspirational picture is super cute, but it is almost too cute. When I showed Hubby the picture he laughed and asked where all the stuff was. So although I could have cutsied up my picture I took it as is...with all my "stuff." Total cost of project was less than $20
We already had the shelves in garage. I did buy black paint to paint the shelves, but only used a small fraction of what I bought. The wall art was $3 for frames (Dollar Tree) and scrapbook paper I already had on hand.
Tomorrow I will do a post on my wall hangings.
REAL MOM'S DINNER: Chicken and Broccoli Rice...for those of you who have anti-veggie eaters it is a GREAT way to sneak broccoli into your kiddies' food! Even my two picky ones will eat it! I'll have to post the recipe another day.

Darling room, but mostly I'm jealous of your washer and dryer!
ReplyDeleteOk the sample pic...who doesn't even have laundry soap in the laundry room? I love what you did with this! I have serious craft envy when I look at your blog! I need to show it to Dave so he can get going on crafty projects..since he is the crafty, scrapboking one and the cook!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking maybe the sample pic only does one load a week and has a small bit of powdered detergent in the canisters on the dryer...only explanation I could think of for that tray of things...
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your "real" post:) Life is messy. Our hands get dirty...but Life Is Beautiful.
Oh, your top picture looks familiar! I love your redo, it looks great. Thanks for being real and for linking up!
